Our  Clinic

We transformed a 35ft RV into Chicago’s first and currently ONLY free mobile vision clinic! Our compact clinic features a welcome/waiting area, screening area, exam room, and finishing lab where we can cut and produce prescription glasses within 20-30min of seeing a patient!

Our child friendly clinic is equipped with state of the art equipment ensuring all patients receive quality vision health care. 

All vision screenings and exams are conducted by student doctors and licensed Optometrists or Ophthalmologists. Through a partnership with Northwestern University’s Department of Ophthalmology, most of our volunteer medical staff are sourced from Northwestern University and Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. All volunteers are trained and have undergone a background check.

FAQs

  • Our tour stops are typically 4hours long. In some cases we can extend to a 6hr tour stop. Within a 4hr tour stop, we can service 25 kids.

  • Yes! We have a finishing lab on our clinic which allows us to produce MOST prescription lenses within 20-30min of seeing a patient. Depending on the complexity or strength of the prescription, some will have to be sent to a third party lab to be produced.

  • Certified doctors perform the eye exams. Medical students perform the vision screenings. We source many of our volunteer doctors and student doctors from Northwestern University's Department of Ophthalmology and Lurie Children's Hospital.

  • We currently service families through community partnerships and community/public events. Check our Tour Schedule to see if and when we will be in your neighborhood. Space is limited for public events. Be sure to join our mailing list so you can stay in the know!
